PROJECT TYPE: Full-service interior design for new construction
LOCATION: Downtown Venice, FL
STORY: For the new construction offices of Pinkerton Private Wealth, we developed a design concept that would encapsulate our client's priorities, company identity, and strong local roots in the Venice community. Throughout the office, Southern classical architecture meets the natural beauty of Venice, Florida. Through this concept we carefully wove bits of local story telling and company history, making this a unique office design.
The reception area features classic white woodwork, organic textures, and a color palette derived from the local, coastal environment. The floor tile calls to mind windswept beach sand, with its neutral color and soft wave pattern. A custom screen wall dividing the reception seating and office corridor areas is made of laser cut steel, and calls to mind the organic nature of leaves and tree branches.
In the executive offices we made the walls feel taller with vertically striped sheer drapery and high wainscoting, which we accented above with bold, blue grasscloth wallcovering. The wainscoting itself creates a “picture ledge” effect for the display of framed diplomas and certifications. Overall the office aesthetic is sophisticated and tailored, bringing together a traditional base with a few balanced, contemporary touches.
The conference room is separated from the open office core by a bronze framed, glass wall with sliding double doors. The visual design concept bridges both land and sky, with a firmly grounded yet also fresh, airy feeling. The conference table is a special piece we custom commissioned from a local craftsman, made from slabs of a tree felled by Hurricane Irma in Sarasota County. The conference room windows offer a great view onto historic Venice Avenue below, while white solar shades and gray fabric sheers can close individually at the push of a remote button to control sunlight when needed.
Just beyond the lobby’s custom screen wall, a smaller meeting room welcomes guests to a round, wood grain table with sunburst pattern. As a reflection of Pinkerton Private Wealth's high level of personal service, the same level of attention was given to the design of the smaller meeting spaces. Warm, grasscloth wallcovering and beautiful black-and-white landscape photography by a local photographer continues the natural, regionally inspired concept.
